Treadwell: Alaska’s Lost Mine is co-owned by Travis Smith and Aaron Murray, who grew up together in Juneau in the 90’s. As teens, we frequently visited the site of the mine collapse to explore the old town’s ruins.

As adults we have both become successful entrepreneurs in our own right. Travis co-owns The Rookery Cafe and In Bocca Al Lupo in Juneau with his business partner, James Beard nominated Chef Beau Schooler.

After initially leaving Juneau, then returning, leaving again, returning, and leaving (hey, it can be a hard place to live), Aaron founded the interactive media company One & 0 in Portland, OR, specializing in custom immersive software experiences..

In mid-2022, Aaron & Travis reconnected and hatched the idea of the tour whose website you are now exploring.
